My brother is one of the best contractors in our area. When I was talking to him about installing new siding on the house, he asked if we needed help. My husband is independent, and he told him he was sure we could do it alone. Charles shrugged and told him if he changed his mind to let him know. Two days later, Charles called and asked my husband how much siding and other materials he thought he would need. My husband hadn’t really taken time to figure it out, so two days later, my brother had off and was at the house. Within two hours, they had the list of things they needed to install the siding, and my husband told me they were going to town. I’d say it surprised me when they returned with a truck full of siding, insulation, and other equipment, but I would be lying. My husband and brother got along well, and when one or the other needed help, they work well together. They always act like they don’t need the help, but it is a front so the other doesn’t feel like they need to help. That weekend, my brother showed up with a crew of workers ready to install the siding. He and my husband sat in the yard and guided the men on how to install the siding. They were drinking a beer and helping set up a BBQ grill so we could feed the guys, which is what Charles offered them for a job well done. It took the entire weekend to install the siding, along with $500 in picnic food and beer, but the siding looks amazing.
