I had mentioned in the last parent educator meeting at my kids university the importance of space boiler safety. Many kids don’t even know how dangerous space heaters can be. It is pressing for kids to know that there are numerous things that can go wrong with space heaters and that they are not a toy. It is severely pressing to understand that small children can be seriously harmd or even killed by space heaters. I asked that the educators in the university give a brief lesson on what to do if there’s a fire in the house. I only asked this because I know that there was a child in the university a few years back that was killed by a apartment fire that was due to a space heater. The space boiler that caused the fire was arenad much too close to the childrens bed. In the middle of the night, a blanket or a sheet came in contact with the space boiler and started a small flame. The sparks suddenly engulfed the apartment and the entire family was killed. If there had been a short lesson on fire safety during university, the tragedy might have been avoided! Space boiler safety is a large problem in this neighborhood and yet, people do not want to take preventative measures to keep the families safe. I learned that there was recently a space boiler safety seminar held at the university and I felt great about the efforts that the university was making.
