Our home church is 165 years old.
We love our church and look forward to seeing many of our friends on a weekly basis there.
As is goes, old buildings need continuous upkeep and repair. The main portion of the building is the oldest and recently had to have the boiler system replaced. We had been experiencing breakdowns over the past several years that sometimes caused us to relocate services on Sunday. Heating a very large building is a very costly venture. Very high ceilings and large windows make the system work overtime to begin with. This added to the fact that our current system was well over 50 years old made making monthly payments the the utility company down right painful. We received estimates from several commercial HVAC companies. After reviewing them we chose an HVAC professional that has prior knowledge of older buildings and a great reputation for customer service. This was a very large expense and we needed to make sure it was worth the cost. They were great to work with. The removal of the very large and heavy boiler was the hardest part of the job. HVAC systems are much smaller and more efficient than in years past. The entire installation took about a week. Our new boiler is not only quieter, it is much more cost effective as well. We are saving almost half on our heating bills for that area and are very pleased with the upgrade. No longer do we need to worry about the temperature on a Sunday morning. What a relief!
