During the year, it is pressing to have a full system maintenance check up on your heating, ventilation, and A/C equipment, the heating and a/c has to actually work hard during the year and respected maintenance can help prevent expensive repairs in the future… However, all maintenance repair checkups include a few basic services.
- The repair serviceman should change the air filter, problems with the air filter can restrict airflow and reduce the efficiency of your heating and cooling equipment! Filter should be replaced every 3 months or more frequently if you live in a house with pets! During the yearly maintenance appointment, the A/C serviceman usually cleans the outside unit to make sure there are no leaves, sticks, or dirt that is impeding the system.
The repair serviceman checks all of the safety features on the machine, which include the carbon monoxide detector and the smoke detector. The tech checks the temperature control for accuracy and the woman usually views the ductwork too. A few years ago, I had some complications with the ductwork and the ventilation system needed to be cleaned, sanitized, and sealed. Since then, I’ve been able to save currency each month on really expensive electric bills. Some respected maintenance jobs can be performed by homeowners, although I prefer to call the local heating, ventilation, and A/C corporation to perform a comprehensive and full system inspection! I know they actually won’t miss anything at all and I’m not so sure that I would be able to tell if there was a problem or not. It seems best to have this type of work performed by a know-howable and skilled professional with training in heating and A/C repairs and installation work.
