I live too far away from an organized gym to make a membership worthwhile.
I simply don’t have the time in my schedule to drive forty minutes to workout.
I’ve set up a home gym in the basement. It’s so convenient to be able to exercise whenever I have the opportunity. I sometimes workout very early in the morning or especially late at night. The rest of the family isn’t disrupted. The basement is wonderfully cool all year round. I have a wonderful area where I can focus entirely on my fitness. Unfortunately, I have limited space. I am quite particular about adding equipment to my home gym. I started out with nothing more than a yoga mat and a set of free weights. Over the years, I’ve added a jump rope, incline bench, mini trampoline and battle ropes. Just recently, I decided to invest into a bigger machine. Because fitness machines are quite large and expensive, I wanted to make a smart choice. I researched different options, weighing the pros and cons of each. I originally planned to purchase a treadmill. However, I was worried about the impact on my joints and feet. After quite a bit of debate, I bought a stationary bike, and I’m very happy with it. The machine operates almost silently and provides a beneficial workout. I can easily get my heart rate elevated and work up a good sweat. I burn anywhere from four hundred to five hundred calories every session. The seat is comfortable, and I can listen to music and read on my ipad while I pedal.
