My friend Luther is an amazing guy.
Despite suffering some setbacks in life, he has managed to turn his life around.
About a decade ago, Luther was married and had 2 kids with his wife. He was working in an office in the city, and sort of got lost for some time. Despite having a wonderful life and a family, Luther fell into depression. This led to him excessively drinking alcohol, and this soon turned into alcoholism. The disease ended up costing him so much including his family and job. In the end, Luther was living in the streets and fell even deeper into depression. A distant aunt heard of his predicament, and took him to live with her. This was after covering his rehab costs, then getting him into a 12-step program. She saved his life and he will forever be grateful. Luther opted to go to roofing school and train to become a roofer. I first met him last year when he came to my house after I contacted a roofing and siding company. I needed someone to take a look at my roof which was leaking. Luther was so easy to speak with and we became quick friends. He found the source of the leak, and came back the next day for roof repair. I always hire the roofing company for roof maintenance, and they know to send Luther as per my request. They have many other roofing contractors working for them, but I must admit I enjoy having Luther at my home. We get to catch up, and he also gives me pointers on proper roof maintenance.
