It’s been a year since Mark and his sister Isabel purchased a beach house together.
This was more of an investment so they could start earning a rental income.
There are many beach houses in the area, and many are rentals. Folks who are on holiday and don’t enjoy hotels can come and stay at the beach front rentals. Mark and Isabel had seen their mom do the same a long time ago when she owned a lake house. She had inherited it from her dad and opted not to sell it. Instead, their mom put in the work to upgrade and furnish the property. Then, each spring, summer, and fall, she’d rent it out to holiday goers who wanted to enjoy the lake. They also went there once a year to relax and do lots of activities. While they no longer have the lake house, the idea never left them. They came together, and opted to get a beach house since they live in a coastal area. It wasn’t a cheap purchase, but it will be worth it in the long run. Some of the work they had to do to upgrade the beach house included siding repair. The beach house was quite lovely, but some of the siding looked old. So, they hired a siding and roofing company to handle that, and also carry out roof inspection. They had some land in front of the property, so they also came up with the idea of installing a deck. Isabel found a deck installation company and they received a favorable quote from them. The deck company completely transformed their front yard, and the siblings are quite pleased with their progress.
