My mom is always contacting me about how to decorate different rooms in her home.

She seems to believe that I am an interior design expert.

While I do have a great eye when it comes to interior design ideas, I get most of my inspiration from interior design ideas that I have seen online or on a TV show. I love those home makeover shows as well as the DIY project shows. Lately, I have been obsessed with tiny homes and how those small spaces are being decorated. I love taking those interior design ideas and making them my own. Some of those home makeover projects can cost thousands of dollars, but I am a firm believer that those looks can be recreated for much cheaper. I am not sure when I became so savvy at interior design as it was never something I was interested in while growing up. Anyway, my mom needed help decorating her half bathroom and she wanted to know what color she should choose. I love most shades of gray, and I believe that it’s a great color to work with. Gray can be used in almost any room as a base as the neutral tone allows you to pair it with just about any accent color. At first, when I suggested gray to my mom, she didn’t love the idea, but then I explained that she can now use any color she chooses as an accent. Shades of blue work well with gray and once I mentioned that, she was sold on the idea. Though I am not an interior designer, I love that I can help my mom with interior design ideas.
