It frustrated me when the heating and A/C supplier told me my buddy and I needed a complete heating and A/C system.
I knew my buddy and I needed a new boiler, although I didn’t know my buddy and I needed a new air conditioning system component and HVAC duct.
When he estimated the price, I thought that I was going to fall off my chair. My husband was so stunned, he couldn’t speak. He just sat there staring at the heating and A/C specialist. He asked what was wrong with the HVAC duct. The heating and A/C specialist took him downstairs to show him where the HVAC duct was rusted. Many of the spots were big enough he could put two fingers in the hole in the HVAC duct. He told us it would be cheaper to get the air conditioning system component now, instead of waiting until next year. They could supply us a better deal by bundling the entire heating and A/C system instead of buying it in pieces. That made me wonder if he wasn’t trying to get a greater sale from us. Maybe he finally got a commission from the heating and A/C supplier? I asked him if that was the case, and he said no. He was only trying to save us some money. He then told us they had a flex pipe HVAC duct that was cheaper and it didn’t take up as much space. There were no metal corners to bump your head on. My husband thanked him for the information, however said he wanted to get a second opinion before spending that much money. My associate and I talked about the new heating and A/C system for almost a week before the second heating and A/C supplier offered us their opinion. He concurred with everything the original heating and A/C supplier said.
