People will always have options when it comes to heating and cooling their houses. Air conditioning is one of the most versatile industries to be in. Having worked for years now, I have come to appreciate that different homeowners prefer different things. As an HVAC specialist with years of experience, my work is advising the client and giving them several options to explore. However, you cannot decide on what they want because they have to do it for themselves. Many of my clients face one common dilemma when they need to upgrade their AC is to choose between a new system installation or to opt for windows AC. At a glance, window ACs may seem ideal since they are portable and easy to remove if one chooses to move. However, in forever homes, such window ACs may not be the best solution. After all, they only work for particular rooms and may not be as energy-efficient as many imagine them when the whole house is involved. Take, for instance, a house with six bedrooms, each requiring an AC. It makes better sense to have a central heating and cooling unit installed instead of having single-window ACs in each room. However, there are circumstances when the window ACs work perfectly. For example, if all rooms are not used simultaneously, the window ACs are more ideal. This happens in most hotels, where visitors may also prefer specific temperature levels that they must regulate individually. Unless you have a unique situation such as this, a central AC seems to be a more viable and affordable option for homeowners. After all, with window AC’s, you may need to install many ACs for each room which may eventually be more expensive.
