My dad is one of those people who can fix just about anything.
His forte is mechanics though.
He actually taught me quite a bit when I was a girl. I loved listening to him explain to me how engines work, and how to change brake pads. I miss those days quite a bit. My husband is also great at figuring out how to fix just about anything except for cars. He hates working on cars which really stinks because the air conditioner went out in our vehicle about two years ago, and we did not want to pay a $1,000 to get it fixed when we knew that my dad could fix it easily. For some reason, we just could not work out a time for my dad to fix it for an entire two years. My husband has great intentions of looking at it himself, but he never got a chance to either. It was miserable driving our vehicle without air conditioning during the summer months. It honestly does not get very warm where we live any other time of the year, so air conditioning is really only needed for about two to three months. Even though air conditioning is only necessary for a few short months, it is still miserable if you do not have it for those three months. After two years, we were finally able to get the car to my dad’s with enough time for him to repair it. I was so excited about finally having air conditioning that I could not help but take it for a drive even though we had nowhere to go.
