I am so thankful that my husband and I got to stay in one home and raise our children.

There is nothing wrong with moving, but I really hoped that we would be able to stay in the same house and raise our children.

I grew up in a military family, and I am so thankful for my dad and all that he did for our country, but I never enjoyed having to move around all of the time. I lived in seven different houses in the first seventeen years of my life. It was hard on the family to have to move all of the time, so I really hoped that once my husband and I bought a house we would stay there for many years. My dream came true because we have been in the same house for over thirty years. I love our house, but it does have some issues. One of our biggest problems is the basement. It gets very humid and moist down in the basement, and mold grows on everything down there if we do not take care of the moisture. We had tried several things, but the best thing so far has been leaving two dehumidifiers running down there 24/7 as well as opening the door that leads outside from the basement. We tried just opening the door when it was nice outside, and that did help clear up the moisture a little bit, but nothing has worked like the dehumidifiers. We had one dehumidifier that was given to us by my parents, but just the one did not take care of all of the moisture, so we bought a second one. Since we have been using this method, we have not had hardly any moisture issues.
