Neither my husband nor I like long road trips.
It is just something that we have never enjoyed.
Our children love road trips so much that they would try to convince my husband and me to take them on a road trip about twice a year. Of course, we love our children, and we wanted to make them happy, so we did end up taking them on quite a few road trips throughout the years. We took one of the longest road trips when we went to see a huge national park out west. It was over a twenty-hour drive one way, and our kids were so excited to go. My husband and I were excited to get there, but we were not excited about the very long road trip. About seven hours into the trip, the air conditioner in our car started making some pretty loud squeaking noises, and we could not get it to stop. My sweet husband does not know very much about cars, so he had no idea what could have been made that high pitched squeal. We kept the air conditioning on for a couple more hours while trying to ignore the sound. It was quite difficult, and we ended up turning it off after a couple of hours. Thankfully, it was not very hot outside where we were driving at the time, so we opened up the windows and enjoyed some fresh air. When we started getting farther west, it got pretty warm, and we were forced to turn the air conditioning back on. A man we met once we arrived at our destination ended helping us fix the problem which we were all super thankful for.
