It is impossible for me to get comfortable and sleep if the room I am in is hot, or even slightly on the warm side. I’m not sure why this is but I prefer for things around me to be slightly chilly so that I can comfortable huddle on my warm blankets. Without that, I simply can’t sleep, and it’s quite the pain. I got a small electric fan to place by my bed to help with this but with the air blowing directly on me it’s too cold, and turning it any other way doesn’t help. If I set the thermostat in the house to a comfortable temperature level for me everyone else is too cold. However, keeping the air conditioner running is the only way for me to truly get comfortable and get a good night’s sleep. That’s why I was thrilled to learn, after a routine HVAC service to check on the condition of our system, my parents decided to upgrade to an HVAC zone control model that could separately maintain the temperature control throughout different rooms of the house, keeping each at a different ideal temperature. It meant that I could have my chilly room throughout the night without anyone else being subject to the cool air coming from the AC vents. It was also beneficial cost wise, in the long run, since it could be set to no longer cool down or heat up rooms that were not in use. Getting a good night’s sleep is much easier now that I can comfortably snuggle up underneath my covers without the room being too warm.
