I currently live with one roommate and I love living with her.
We have lived together for about seven years now.
I’ve never had any issues with her living situation. That was until her boyfriend moved in with us about two weeks ago. My roommate didn’t ask me If her boyfriend could move in; he just kind of did. One day I came home from work and he just didn’t leave. I didn’t really love this idea because he hasn’t been helping pay rent or any utility bills. However, he has been helping with other cleaning around the house so at least that is taken care of, but there is one thing he has been doing that really bugs me so much. He adjusts the temperature of our thermostat and turns our air conditioning on and blasts the air conditioning. Not only is there air-conditioning running all day but the house is freezing cold. I really wish my friend would ask her boyfriend to help out with money because he is bringing the cost of our utility bill up with his air-conditioning habits. I don’t want this to cause any issues in my relationship with my current roommate because she is so great, but if she doesn’t say something to her boyfriend about changing the temperature of the HVAC system and I’m going to have to say something and I am worried that that will make things awkward in the apartment. I really hope she just takes care of the situation so I don’t have to.
