I love old homes.

Ever since I was a little kid I have really loved old homes.

I grew up always going to my grandparent’s house that was a historic home and when my parents retired they also bought a historic home. So, I guess it was just in my DNA to get a historic home of my own one day. There is a lot of work that goes into preserving an older home. There are codes you have to follow and inspections you have to have if you want to do any major home major home improvement projects. One thing that you have to keep in mind when purchasing a historic home is the heating and cooling system. Most historic homes have the original heating and cooling system installed and for the most part you really can’t make any major upgrades to the heating and cooling system. Something I didn’t know when purchasing an older home is that they were not normally built with ductwork and you definitely can’t rip up part of the house inorder to have them installed. I know that it is going to be a lot of work, but I am really excited to own a historic home one day. I will just have to find an HVAC company that specializes in heating and cooling in historic homes. I know it will be expensive, but I think it will be worth it!
