My dad doesn’t want to actually move away from her house, but it’s time for him to move in with my sibling or me, or she has to go to live at home.
My dad saw me a couple of weeks ago and since after that I have been dealing with social services.
Social services won’t let my dad go back to her house unless there is someone there to take care of him at all times. My wife and I can’t take care of my dad when my buddy and I have three children at home, so our only real option is to bring my dad to live with us. My dad doesn’t want to travel away from home, although I told him the circumstances. She knows that she has to live with me and my wife or go to a retirement home. My dad has been living in that house for 50 years. She recently upgraded the heating system. That was the excuse my Dad tried to give. She told me that she paid for a brand modern heating system and she wasn’t going to transport it out of the house until the heating system was fully paid for. I finally told my dad that she was being ridiculous. It didn’t matter if the heating system was modern or not, because the fact of that matter was that my dad could not live in that house anymore. Wife and I are actually doing everything my buddy and I can to make sure that my dad will be comfortable with us. We even hired a local company to put a small bathroom in the home office so my dad does not have to share with the various teenagers.
