About 10 years ago I decided to upgrade the heating and A/C unit in my condo with a ductless mini split system.
The ductless mini split system has one single unit and separate air handlers.
I have a separate unit in the living room and another unit in the home office. I was experiencing concerns with the air handler in the home office, so I decided to call a service service. I contacted the same service that installed the system. The woman on the cellphone was excellent and offered me troubleshooting assistance. We went through a couple of steps to see if anything could help service the problem. After that, she told me that she could schedule me for an emergency service appointment that night, or I could wait until the next day. I decided to wait until the next day so I did not have to pay the extra money for the emergency service fee. I found out that the air handler in the living room needed to be upgraded. The other air handler was working just fine, the one inside of the living room was gone. The A/C service specialist offered me a wonderful deal on a new air handler and she also offered me a price to upgrade the other one when I was ready. I might try to get that done during Christmas when I get my annual bonus. I would prefer to wait until Christmas to upgrade both of them, then I won’t have any money at all to buy gifts for my family.
