Getting proper HVAC maintenance is also key to maximizing the efficiency of the heat pump

The heat pump has gotten the air conditioning tune up and the last of the Spring weather is currently on tap. I’m loving this last bit of gorgeous weather by getting outside as much as possible. The days of getting out of the commercial HVAC of the office to eat lunch outside are coming to a close. From June through September, I’ll be finding other places inside the commercial HVAC to eat lunch. At least this gives me a ready excuse to eat out more often. But I’ll miss my lunches in the park or the courtyard adjacent to our building. In this region, Summer brings with it some very steep heat and humidity numbers into play. So lunchtime is pretty much right inside the peak heating hours of the day. That is not the time of day you want to be sitting outside unless you’re submerged in some body of water. Unfortunately, I can’t go for a swim at lunch time. This is also the time of year where it’s important to get my home prepared so I can maximize the efficiency of the heat pump. Our residential HVAC is a essential stuff once the temperature breach and remain in the mid to upper 90’s. And sealing up the house helps save a bunch on air conditioning. My biggest concern is the weather stripping as that’s one of the key places where air conditioning can slip outside. Getting proper HVAC maintenance is also key to maximizing the efficiency of the heat pump. But the real key to the air conditioning cost savings is to maintain good thermostat discipline. Keeping it in the 80’s during the day saves a ton of money on cooling costs.
