I’m noticing that the chorus of heat pumps is starting up again.
We aren’t too far from another Summer heat season and the heat pump song is warming up.
By June, all the heat pumps in our neighborhood will be humming along with the same air conditioning tune. The temperatures are still just so nice. The day time highs are still in the 70’s and maybe an 80 degree day here and there. The Spring breezes are still in play as well which just adds to the delight of this sort of weather. Soon however, I’ll be sealing up the house as the breezes will die and the heat will soar. That means about four months of having the house all sealed up and the air conditioning on. I’ve gotten the HVAC maintenance done on the heat pump already. This is something I do every year. For one, the HVAC maintenance ensures that the heat pump will be ready to carry the big load that’s coming when June gets here. And equally important is the fact that an air conditioning tune up will maximize the efficiency of the heat pump. That means less money coming out of my pocket for cooling purposes. But it’s not just the cooling that I rely on the heat pump to provide. The air conditioning process also makes a very important impact in another way. The heat pump also balances the humidity levels while it is cooling the house. That means when you walk inside the central air conditioning of your home, the air is cool and crisp. And that also means that mold and mildew growth are also mitigated.
