The Airbnb mystery has been solved.

The distance between the quaint cottages made my friend and I feel like we were completely alone. I also made sure the HVAC and air conditioning were in top shape because we were going on vacation during the summer. I wanted to talk to the supervisor about replacing the HVAC system and called the office. The representative I spoke with was very pleasant and helpful in answering my questions about the HVAC system they advertised. She assured me that all five cottages were equipped with fresh air filters and programmable thermostats that guests could adjust to their liking. Modern technology was used for the HVAC, so the guests were assured of a comfortable stay. When I received satisfactory explanations, I went ahead and reserved a room. Everything looked exactly like the pictures when my friend and I arrived, and I even got to meet the woman I’d been corresponding with online. Being in her company was a delight. While the youngsters went paddleboarding, she brought me a frosty drink and filled me in on her afternoon job as an HVAC technician. She had experience working with HVAC equipment from a wide variety of manufacturers during her previous employment in the industry. She added that she still had her tools and handled the HVAC maintenance herself most of the time, though she occasionally contacted a professional in case she overlooked anything. Even though she could handle any ductless heat pump emergency on her own, she still had the local company’s number programmed into her speed dial. In the end, my travel companion and I became such great friends that we stayed in touch long after our trip ended. I had her stay at my cabin when she came to town at my invitation.
