My fiance & I have been looking for a house to buy for the last year & a half straight.

Because we don’t want to settle with something that is not going to meet our expectations, we are waiting to find the best fit for us.

My fiance wants a bigger house, while I would enjoy to just have one that feels comfortable & pleasant. She grew up in apartments her entire life & consistently wanted to live in a home that was big enough to house a family of six. We absolutely had to sit down & talk about what we wanted & we ended up having to come to a compromise on the size. However, there were a few things that we honestly agreed upon. We wanted to live in the countryside, & we also wanted to live in a house with a fireplace. It was important to us living in a cold environment to have a supplemental heating source that does not require gas, oil, or electricity. We managed to find a house with a fireplace in it, but there wasn’t any land behind it with trees that we could cut down or harvest from the ground. What happens is trees die & they fall & then once they’ve dried out enough you can use the tree trunks for firewood. And we are hoping we can find a house that has a fireplace & lots of trees behind it for firewood. I’m confident that we will eventually find the type of property that we are looking for, we just have to be patient & keep our eyep open.
