My husband Mark was in the army for 10 years before he received his honorable discharge. He developed a condition that prevented him from continuing his service in the military. After he was discharged, he wanted to work as a civilian so he needed to find something that would make sense for him. And the main skills that he had was HVAC as that is what he did while he was in the army. Unfortunately, because of his injury he was unable to perform the physical labor that is required for someone who is an HVAC technician. So, Mark did the next best thing, he opened his own HVAC company and hired a crew of HVAC managers as well as technicians to execute the work. Mark focuses on sales and marketing and because of his knowledge in the industry, he is really good at selling his service. Currently, his company has 2 managers and 13 HVAC techs, most of whom have been working with Mark for over 5 years. Mark is passionate about HVAC, and although he can’t perform the service like he did when he was in the army, he is able to train his crew on how to fix and troubleshoot all HVAC issues. Under his leadership and extensive training, the company has been operating successfully for about 15 years now, and although Mark could retire in the next 5 years, he has no plans to slow down anytime soon. He loves being an HVAC provider and working in the industry, and when you love what you do, it’s hard to walk away from it.
